101. Withdraw from Taxpayer-Funded Lobby Groups Like TASB
We believe locally elected school boards have a duty to ensure that the education provided reflects traditional Texas values, and have purview over policy, curriculum, and budget. Local independent school districts should sever all ties with taxpayer-funded lobby groups, including the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), and the Texas Association of Community Schools (TACS). We support prohibiting taxpayer dollars from being used to pay dues or any fees for these groups. Required training now provided by groups like the above-named organizations would instead be under the auspices of the State Board of Education, with funds appropriated for that purpose.
