The Republican Party of Texas formally opposes any government program or funding that facilitates the bulk collection of Americans' data, metadata, or AI-driven behavioral analysis without a specific, individualized warrant based on probable cause. We call upon our federal representatives to immediately repeal or reform sections of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)—specifically Section 702—and the PATRIOT Act to prevent their use against domestic political activity. We support the passage of legislation to strictly prohibit government agencies from purchasing personal data from private entities to circumvent the Bill of Rights, ensuring our digital lives receive the same protections as our physical homes.
