Reforming Regulation to Promote Affordable Legal Services
NEW PLANK
We recognize the constitutional authority of the Judicial Branch to regulate law practice and license service providers, and we encourage the Supreme Court of Texas to reform burdensome regulations and allow the market to provide more quality legal services that Texans can afford. We call upon the Court to issue rules authorizing trained non-lawyers who pass an exam to provide a limited range of basic legal services, much as nurse practitioners and physician assistants do in the medical field.
