WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk was born on October 14, 1993, and was tragically assassinated on September 10, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk demonstrated the best qualities of an American citizen by engaging in respectful debate, avoiding ad-hominem attacks, and using our God-given logic and reason to make his points to any who wished to engage him; and
WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk selflessly defended the American ideals of life, liberty, limited government, and individual responsibility; and
WHEREAS, the Republican Party of Texas unequivocally rejects any form of political violence, all of which are antithetical to the principles of a free republic;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that October 14 shall be forever celebrated as “Charlie Kirk Day” in Texas, where the importance of respectful debate and adherence to the principles of the American founding are practiced and engaged in by the youth, adults, and all Americans in the world.
